Cemetery Beauty

This is the image of arches in the cemetery of my hometown in Italy.
These “corridors” run on three sides of the perimeter of the cemetery.
Looking at the photo above: the left side faces the cemetery ground, and on the right side, between each arch there is a family chapel. They often feature beautiful statues, like this one.

The tombs in the ground are often covered with marble, some are very elaborate with fancy statues, or crosses.

I blogged here about my childhood memories of weekly trips to the cemetery.

I find it relaxing to walk around admiring these sculpture and thinking about the people buried there…..

Today I am grateful for the great people I work with.

  1. I’d love to know more. Where is your hometown? You might like a book I am presently reading called: My cousin the Saint, By Justin Cantanoso. He makes a pilgrimage to Italy to see where he comes from, and to learn what it means to have a saint n the family. It is a lovely story.
