Mermaids Parade

The Mermaid is the official logo of the city of Norfolk, Virginia.
It symbolizes 300 years of maritime and naval heritage.
More than 100 unique mermaid statues have been made in the past 10 years to represent Norfolk around town.

“The mermaids reflect nautical and Norfolk themes, civic pride, the diversity of the region, or whatever else artists and sponsors dream up; for example, a mermaid covered in coins is sponsored by a bank, a mermaid sporting a chef’s hat and apron sits in front of a bakery.” from Mermaids on Parade website

Here are few that I have captured around town.
